1st Class Motorcycle Training
We are pleased to provide comprehensive motorcycle training for your A1, A2, and DAS full licence requirements. All bookings and payments must now be made online via our website. Due to our exceptionally busy work schedule, we may not always be able to receive or return phone calls. However, you are welcome to contact us via email for any queries.
All of our current availability is displayed on the booking page. If we receive any cancellations, these are always offered to customers who have already pre-booked. To find the earliest available training dates, we recommend looking for our split day courses.
Our off-road training site is the largest in the area, providing ample space for you to learn and practise the essential skills required for your Module 1 test. We strive to make our courses both enjoyable and fun, while maintaining the highest possible standards throughout.
It is important to note that motorcycle training can vary significantly across the country. Not all providers offer the same quality of instruction, and our training is focused solely on improving your skills, building your confidence, and preparing you for your test. Training is conducted in the same areas used for testing, unless you specifically request otherwise. Many students who have previously trained elsewhere notice a marked improvement in the standard of our training, as reflected in our high pass rates and positive reviews.
When booking with us, you can be confident that you will train on the latest and best motorcycles available. Our fleet consists exclusively of machines that we are proud to own and ride ourselves. All bikes are less than three years old, come with a full dealership service history, and are maintained to the highest standard. Throughout your full licence course, you will progress through different machine sizes, starting with the KTM Duke 125, moving to the KTM Duke 390, and finishing on either the A2-restricted or unrestricted KTM Duke 790.
These bikes are the lightest and best balanced in their class, equipped with up-to-date electronic aids such as lean-angle sensitive ABS, traction control, slipper clutches, and anti-wheelie features. Bike hire includes fuel and third-party insurance.
Each training day includes at least one hour specifically dedicated to Module 1 test practice, ensuring you are fully prepared. We only offer courses with tests booked in the local area, meaning you will be familiar with the roads for your Module 2 test.
To enrol in a full licence course, you must have a current and valid CBT certificate, which must be presented in its original form (copies are not accepted). If your CBT was taken elsewhere and the certificate is incorrectly completed, defaced, or lost, we may not be able to assist. If you need to take your CBT, it can be booked HERE.
Your UK photocard driving licence (required each day).
A valid, original CBT certificate (copies or certificates with unapproved corrections are not accepted; if unsure, please have it checked with us beforehand).
Your theory test pass certificate (must be in date).
It is your responsibility to ensure all documents are valid and available for training and tests. If in doubt, please ask us in advance. We highly recommend bringing your own in-ear headphones with a 3.5mm jack, as we cannot connect to Bluetooth headsets. We provide over-ear headphones for on-road training, but these may be uncomfortable for some. In-ear headphones are available for purchase at £3 for hygiene reasons, as all students must have radio contact during training.
All trainees are required to wear a helmet, jacket, gloves, and sturdy trousers without rips. Sturdy boots covering the ankle, which allow easy control use, are also required. We can provide limited equipment for training, including helmets, jackets, gloves, and some sizes of boots and trousers. Please note we may not have all sizes available, and there is no protection offered by tracksuit bottoms or trainers. Unsuitable clothing or footwear may result in refusal to participate in training or testing.
Bookings made within the next ten weeks will have tests secured for the last day of the course (test times may differ from those shown). Bookings made more than ten weeks in advance will have provisional test dates; should we be unable to secure your preferred dates, alternative options will be offered.
If you have not yet passed your theory test but wish to book, you can use 123456789 as your theory number. However, do not book your course to start sooner than one month after your theory test date, to allow time for test arrangements. If you are unsuccessful in your theory test, you will still be expected to attend the booked dates and may forfeit your test day and fees.
Always bring the original theory pass certificate to all training and tests. If you do not have the original certificate, please contact theorycustomerservices@dvsa.gov.uk.
If you have previously taken a motorcycle test, have been banned from driving, or require an extended test, please ensure you declare this information when booking. Failure to declare may result in problems with booking your test.
We recommend course length based on your riding experience and familiarity with the Plymouth area. More specific advice can be given after observing your riding, which can occur during your CBT or a pre-course lesson. It is advisable to be honest about your experiencebooking an extra day is more cost-effective than having to retake tests.
3 Day Direct Access / A2 Course (£649.50): For experienced riders currently riding a 125cc and familiar with Plymouth.
4 Day Direct Access / A2 Course (£770.50): For less experienced riders or those unfamiliar with Plymouth.
5 Day Direct Access / A2 Course (£930.50): For those with very little geared motorcycle experience (a 1-hour lesson is required before booking if you have never ridden geared machines).
VIP CBT to Full A2/Direct Access Course (£1099.50): For those with minimal experience (a 1-hour lesson is required before booking for those new to geared motorcycles).
It is the customer's responsibility to book the most appropriate course and machine for their abilities. If unsure, please arrange an appointment to discuss requirements prior to attending. We reserve the right to assign you to the bike best suited to your skill level, with the instructor having the final decision.
All courses include our Module 1 Guaranteed Pass, which entitles you to free bike hire and one hour of training to retake the Module 1 test (the test fee of £15.50 is not included). This offer is unique to our school and reflects our high pass rate. It is only valid if you have booked the appropriate course for your experience and retake the test within 21 days or at the next available opportunity. Additional training or retests outside these conditions will be charged at standard rates.
The Guaranteed Pass does not extend to the Module 2 test, as most failures are due to poor roadcraft, and insurance risks are higher. Module 2 retests, including a two-hour refresher, cost £175 and cannot be taken within ten working days of the previous test. Further training is available at our standard rates.
If you are unsure how many days to book, it is generally more cost-effective to add an extra day to your course. Both Module 1 and Module 2 tests are booked on the last day of the course; if you do not attend or pass Module 1, you cannot attend Module 2.
Please ensure you are able to attend on the dates selected, as transferring dates is not always possible. If you need to request a date transfer, please email us with at least 31 days' (one month) notice.
All courses are conducted in English. You must be able to speak and understand English to a conversational level for safety reasons. Courses will not proceed if communication is an issue, and interpreters are not permitted. All on-road communication is via radio, and we must be confident in your ability to follow instructions safely.
If you have significant medical issues or learning needs that could impact your training, please disclose this in the notes section when booking. If unsure about the course length or your ability, it is advisable to book a one-hour session with an instructor beforehand, so we can recommend the best route to your full licence.
