1st Class Motorcycle Training

1 Hour Lesson Availability and Booking Information

At 1st Class Motorcycle Training, we offer individual 1-to-1 lessons for motorcyclists. Each lesson lasts for one hour and is priced at £40 per hour. The fee includes bike hire and the use of safety equipment.

All bookings and payments must be made online. Due to our busy schedule, we are not always able to answer or return calls. Our booking system operates in real-time, displaying all available courses as well as any cancellations.

Please note that bookings are exclusively for one-hour lessons. If you wish to book two or three hours, you will need to reserve multiple one-hour slots to meet your training requirements.

Purpose of Individual Training Sessions

Our individual 1-to-1 lessons are designed to suit your unique needs. Students have used these sessions for a variety of reasons, including:

Becoming familiar with riding a motorcycle or moped before undertaking a CBT, thereby making the CBT course easier as the basics will already have been covered.

Learning to ride with clutch and gears if the CBT was previously completed on an automatic machine.

Taking a refresher lesson for those who have not ridden for some time and would like additional practice or tuition before riding solo again.

Gaining extra practice before starting a Full Licence course.

Booking an assessment lesson to ensure the correct course length is chosen according to your experience and ability.

Trying a larger bike for size and practising for the Module 1 Test.

Completing a CBT if extra tuition is required after a full CBT course with us. This must be booked within 1 month (30 days) of the original CBT course. If this period has passed, a new full CBT course is necessary.

Please note: This is not a full CBT course. If you wish to use these lessons to complete a full CBT course, indicate this in the notes section when booking. Usually, it takes six one-hour lessons to cover all elements required for a CBT, though this may vary depending on prior experience.

Let us know what you would like to practise or learn by leaving a note when booking, so we can prepare accordingly.

Training Environment

Our off-road training site is the largest in the area, providing ample space to learn and practise basic skills. All our training courses are delivered to the highest standards and are designed to be both enjoyable and effective.

There are significant differences between training providers. Many students notice a marked improvement in the quality of training when attending our courses, especially if they have trained elsewhere. Those taking full licence courses often remark that they wish they had trained with us earlier, as some basic machine skills may not have been taught correctly elsewhere.

What to Bring

Your UK photo card driving licence (if you have an old-style paper licence, you must also bring a valid photo ID such as your passport).

A valid driving licence summary is required if you wish to go out on the road. Instructions on obtaining this can be found via Google or during the booking process.

If you have a provisional licence and want on-road training, you must also produce a valid, original CBT certificate unless you are completing a previously started CBT with us.

It is your responsibility to ensure your licence is valid for motorcycle training in the UK. If you wish to participate in on-road lessons, you must demonstrate a good understanding of the Highway Code.

We recommend bringing your own in-ear headphones with a 3.5mm jack if you are going on the road. Over-ear headphones are provided, but may be uncomfortable for some. In-ear headphones are available for purchase (£3) for hygiene reasons. Radio contact is mandatory for all on-road training.

Attendance and Dress Code

Arrive punctually and with all the required documents. Appropriate clothing is essential: a helmet, jacket, gloves, sturdy bottoms without rips, and boots that cover the ankle and allow for easy control usage. We can supply some equipment, but our range of sizes is limited and may not suit everyone. Our equipment includes helmets, jackets, gloves, and limited sizes in boots and trousers.

Tracksuit bottoms and trainers do not provide adequate protection. You may be refused training or testing if your clothing or footwear is deemed unsuitable and you refuse alternatives.

Bike Hire and Machine Selection

Bike hire is included in your lesson fee and covers fuel and third-party insurance. We offer a variety of bikes for different levels:

CBT Level: Super Soco CUX (Electric Automatic 50cc, 16+), Super Soco TcMax (Electric 125cc equivalent, 17+), Honda MSX 125cc (17+), KTM Duke 125cc (17+).

Full Licence A1 (17+): Honda MSX 125cc, KTM Duke 125cc.

Full Licence A2 (19+): KTM Duke 390cc (requires valid CBT).

Full Licence A - DAS (24+ or A2 held for 2+ years): KTM Duke 790cc (requires valid CBT or A2 for 2+ years).

Full licence holders may use any of the above bikes. We reserve the right to assign the most appropriate bike for your needs, as determined by your instructor. If using your own bike, it must be taxed, MOT'd, and insured in your name for the lesson duration.

Course Duration and Scheduling

1:2:1 training sessions run from 14:30 to 15:30 and 15:35 to 16:35. Occasionally, additional times may be offered, but all availability is shown on the booking page.

Changing Your Booking

You can reschedule your lesson up to three days before the course start date. Cancellations after this point will result in the loss of your course fee.

Booking for Another Person

Bookings must be made using the name, email, and contact details of the person attending, as this information may need to be shared with the DVSA. Multiple bookings or shared email addresses may cause errors and could result in cancellation.

Course Language Requirements

Courses are conducted in English. To take your CBT, you must be able to speak and understand English at a conversational level. Training will not proceed if there are communication issues, as this is a safety requirement. Interpreters are not permitted at any stage, and all on-road communication is via radio.

Medical Conditions and Learning Needs

If you have significant medical issues or learning needs that may affect your training, please disclose this in the notes section when booking. Also let us know if you are not confident riding a push bike on the road.

Booking Process and Advice

All bookings and payments are processed online. To view availability, select your required course on the next page, then choose from the available dates. Please read the terms and conditions carefully.

Our booking system is checked hourly for accuracy. We receive many successful bookings daily. Most booking issues arise from errors on the customers end. Our advice for resolving common issues includes:

Do not allow your browser to autofill your email address.

On mobile devices, enter email addresses and passwords manually rather than using autofill.

Clear your browser history if you encounter issues.

Try a different browser or use a non-mobile device to complete your booking.

These steps resolve 99.9% of booking problems. We cannot override the booking system due to data protection requirements.

Still Unsure?

You are welcome to visit us to discuss your needs, view our facilities, and try our bikes for size before booking. We are proud to offer the largest off-road training site in the area and the best bikes for learning.
