We are happy to suggest various other companies across Dorset for your test or in the surrounding areas of Highcliffe, Bournemouth and New Milton. Completing your 'Compulsory Basic Training' CBT test will allow you to ride any scooter, moped, electric motorbike, 50cc moped or 125cc motorbike of your choice. All you'll need to do is get a provisional UK license, suitable clothing and then book your CBT.

What does CBT stand for?

CBT stands for Compulsory Basic Training, this is something that was introduced in 1990 and it aims to reduce motorcycle accidents. Your CBT training in Haringey will improve rider training and give people of all ages a basic understanding of the controls of a two-wheeled machine and the confidence to use it on the road. Your CBT can normally be completed in a day but may take longer if your instructor feels that you need more training.

Is CBT a test or an evaluation?

Contrary to popular belief, a CBT is more of an evaluation than a test; your instructor will, throughout the day, observe your abilities and, if you complete the day to the required competency, you shall be awarded a pass certificate (professionally known as a DL196). A CBT certificate is valid for two years and once you have completed your full motorcycle examination, you will no longer have to renew your CBT. However, if you do not carry on your training in Christchurch, you will be required to re-sit your CBT test after two years.
